Ohhhh the wedding plans

So we are now officially 6 months and 4 days away from our wedding!  Things are coming together nicely too.  Everything is pretty much done, with the exception of the few things that I've left up to Tim.....but that's typical, just like a man to wait until the last minute to get anything done.....and with Tim if it doesn't involve a pint of Guinness at the end then he'll be taking his sweet time.  So now's the hard part.......PAYING FOR IT ALL!

To be honest, I thought that planning a destination wedding was going to be difficult but I found it to be a real pleasure and have had no issues at all.  I guess it helps that our destination is REALLY a place that we consider a second home....

So here's what's been done thus far.....pictures and all!

Our location is The Wickliffe House.  It's a beautiful and quaint location in downtown Charleston.  I really happy with the our location and our caterer Mediterra Catering.  Katie Preigel has be the best coordinator a girl could ask for......we're totally on the same page!  (The image is courtesy of Jill Higgins Photography, Charleston, South Carolina)

I just can't wait for the big day....we will be having our ceremony upstairs and food, lots of drinks and dancing on the front lawn will follow immediately after the ceremony.  It's going to be a great party!

One other thing I am totally looking forward to is our Halloween "Trick or Treat" candy buffet!  We have contracted a wonderful floral designer Out of Hand.  They have come up with some beautiful designs for our Halloween wedding.  With our colors being Burnt Orange and Chocolate I really wanted to flowers to reflect that as well as have a Halloween flare, so the girl's bouquets will filled with chocolate colored sunflowers and dahlias with chocolate colored feathers and wrapped with burnt orange silk ribbon and tied off with an antique broach.  My flowers will mostly be burnt orange roses with a touch of the chocolate feathers and flowers and tied off with chocolate colored silk ribbon and an antique broach.....

Out of hand, does a lot more than floral design, they are also event designers and rent amazing antique and really unique pieces of furniture and knick knacks.  So when I asked about the candy buffet that they have displayed on their website I was so excited to learn that I could have exactly that!  Out of Hand will be providing us with that awesome "Trick or Treat" candy buffet......antique piece of furniture and all!

One thing I MUST have at our Halloween wedding is Jack O Lanterns!  But I really don't want your typical Jack O Lanterns, I want something amazing.  But I think this might be asking too much.....ahaahaha!

We have FOUR fireplace mantles to decorate and I am really into the idea of having white carved  pumpkins and votive candleholders.  Now these candleholders have a wonderful story behind them.....but I'll save that for a later post once I take a picture of them!

Just the other day I finalized our wedding invitations........woo hoo another thing DONE!  This is an image of the invitation we chose but the colors will be Chocolate and Kiwi Green, they didn't have orange.........boo hoo!

I'll post another image of them once they come in!

As far as the cake is concerned..........now that is going to AWESOME!  I found a design in Martha Stewart that I was head over heels in love with!  It was in a issue a few months back and I had never seen anything like it before.  Being a photographer I am a very visual person.....well obviously...hahaha, and I LOVE details.  I get So excited when I shoot a wedding that has amazing little details, so I wanted to make sure that our wedding was VERY detailed.  And the cake was to be no exception!  The cake I chose the two tiered cake with the larger bottom tier with Love on it...

Let's keep it in the bedroom....

And at the very end....her boyfriend joined in for a few shots......
